Toby Price hopes to win Dakar 2021

Must read

Being consistent is clearly a gauge of excellence, but for Toby Price winning is the only thing matters. In six participations, the Australian has five top-three finishes. Every time he has made it to the end he has marched on to the podium. And while his third place in Saudi Arabia was yet again proof of his toughness, it was clearly not what the two-time winner of the rally had in mind.

In special Dakar conference the Aussie was happy about his team “Red Bull KTM Factory Team” results in the toughest rally raid: “Since 2015 we had a pretty good track record. Every time we lined up. I think everyone tries to win a race. Whole year we workd very hard. 2017 Dakar was the toughest one. But we all hope to have a showing.”

T. Price said that this pandemic year a preparation was pretty different than last year, but it was the same for everybody: “We are all in the same situation. In Australia we spent almost 8 months at home, just these last few month we could do something. I even missed Christmas which I always celebrate with my family because of testing. We did Andalusya rally and now its for 2021 Dakar.”

Asked who will win bikes race T. Price laughed: “I wish that it’s me”.
